Women’s House in Meaux

Women’s House in Meaux

In Meaux in 1980, in a large complex, a "collective apartment" was built by women of the city for their use: they can find there a space of reception and speech, of exchange on its problems, to meet there, to develop creative activities. Isabelle EHNI, actress, member of the Women’s Group of Meaux explains that this house for women is one of the first attempts in the proletarian milieu and that it allows to give space to women: you are no longer alone and for women it is important". Danièle, head of the women’s group, points out that this apartment was an opportunity to arrange the places in their image and to create a room for women in difficulty.
