Lively exchange between Marc Madiot and Jeannie Longo about women in cycling
On the set of the show "A chacun son tour" in 1987, the cyclists Marc MADIOT and Jeannie LONGO exchange some sharp words on women’s cycling. For the cycling champion: "you can’t say that you love women when you don’t respect their aspirations... there is no sport that suits women better". For Marc MADIOT on the contrary, there are women’s and men’s sports. He doesn’t like women’s cycling. He finds female cyclists ugly, unlike female sprint or high jump athletes. "Sport must have an aesthetic side". He will love women’s cycling races when women are wearing prettier outfits.
