Marie-France Garaud on the responsibilities of heads of state: "we do not govern innocently"

During her interview, Marie-France GARAUD explains that "one does not govern innocently". It takes the example of General De Gaulle who assumed his responsibilities as leader of the Resistance during the Second World War: "he has agreed to wear everything and I believe that governing is this: it is accepting to be condemned for something that one has seen fit to do for his country". "I believe of Begin and Madame Thatcher govern thus". She quotes Margaret Thatcher: "democracy involves taking responsibility, and I assume it".
