The President of the Republic of Ecuador, José María VELASCO IBARRA, evokes in French the economic problem of bananas in Ecuador, exported abroad by two large producers who have a monopoly on the detractions of small farmers: "With regard to bananas, we need that the exploitation of this article is mainly for the small workers and it is necessary to destroy the monopoly of the large producer..."
