Mayotte will be the only island to vote "no" tomorrow during the consultation on the independence of the Comoros. Marcel HENRY, one of the leaders of the Mahorais party, recalls that between 1841 and 1912 Mayotte was already the only French island in the archipelago. Ahmed ABDALLAH, President of the Government Council, on a visit to Mayotte, considers that conditions have changed and speaks of "a colonial spirit".
