Marcello MASTROIANNI describes his meeting with the director Fellini. The latter, who was preparing his film "La Dolce Vita", was looking for a "banal" actor and not a star. MASTROIANNI also recalls that the basis of the scenario was a sketch of Fellini representing a man surrounded by sirens.
