Speculation, the logic of stock markets

Speculation, the logic of stock markets

Since 1988, quotations have been made on computer and all investors have the same information in real time. This can accentuate the duration of a crisis and the fluctuations of securities, resulting in disconnection with the real economy. Illustration with the former US start-up "amazon.com" which has become the world leader in online sales on the Internet and the Euronext European stock exchange monitoring room, which monitors aberrant stock fluctuations. Interviews with Marc TOUATI (Chief Economist Natexis), Jeff BEZOS (Founding President of Amazon.com) and Christian SIMONET (Euronext Markets Directorate) on market surveillance using supervisory alerts.
