Interview with Oscar Niemeyer about Brasilia

For the first anniversary of Brasilia, the reporters of "Five Columns in the Spotlight" went to visit the new federal capital of Brazil inaugurated on 21 April 1960 by the President of the Republic Juscelino Kubitshek. Brasilia, a completely new city located on a desert plateau at 1200 m above sea level, was built by an artificial lake by the town planner Lucio Costa and the architect Oscar Niemeyer. French interview with Oscar NIEMEYER, in the garden of his property. Influenced in his work by the French architect Le Corbusier, he wanted to make Brasilia "a pretty and functional city", as part of a project of "socialist society".
