Roman Gary and Faust

Pierre Desgraupes talks to the writer Romain Gary about his latest novel "Les mangeurs d'étoiles", this nickname given to Amerindians of the southern hemisphere consuming hallucinogenic plants, extends to people who pursue a dream. The hero of the book, Al Mayo, dictator of a Caribbean republic, seeks to make a pact with the devil, in a modern transposition of Goethe’s Faust in which the United States play the role of Mephistopheles.
