Romain Gary about the novel "The Roots of Heaven"

Romain GARY presents his book: "The Roots of the Heaven" (Gallimard) a manifesto of indignation written after a plane accident of which he was victim. Flying too low, the pilot killed himself by hitting an elephant. The main character of Morel, hero of the novel, is inspired by the European who hit him from the fist and then lectured him just after the collision for killing an elephant.
