Interview with Shah Mohammad Reza PAHLAVI responding to the assertion that although Iran has freed itself from British guardianship, it is now dependent on many American investments. He replied that this does not interfere with Iran’s independence and that many other countries are coming to invest in Iran. Regarding atomic energy, which could compete with Iranian oil, the Shah hopes to have time to develop this energy in the coming decades. He concludes with some satisfaction that American oil will soon run out.
