Bertrand Tavernier on French-style crime fiction

Interviewed by Gérard JO'HUI, the critic and filmmaker Bertrand TAVERNIER evokes the evolution of the French police film. For a very long time there was the "myth of manly friendship", which seems particularly unbearable to him. Justice always triumphed, now immorality has taken over. However, we have not changed the way we tell stories, when we should, as Claude Autant-Lara said, "get into the fat of history". He concludes with: "what a lesson!"
