Herzog-Lachenal Controversy

Herzog-Lachenal Controversy

Journalists and historians were interested in the conquest of the Annapurna (Himalayas) by Maurice HERZOG and his team in 1950. But the version of Maurice HERZOG’s facts about the expedition differs somewhat from that of other members of the group, such as Louis LACHENAL, for example. In fact, the former Secretary of State for Youth and Sport is accused of having alone collected the laurels of victory and glory on this mountain, one of the summits of the world. Commentary on factual and archival images and interviews Yves BALLU (historian) and Jean-Michel ASSELIN (editor-in-chief of Roc-Vertical).
