Migratory tension in Mayotte

Migratory tension in Mayotte

In 1995, the French government decided to limit traffic between the Comorian archipelago and Mayotte, French department. Every year hundreds of people die at sea trying to reach Mayotte. Emmanuel Macron wants to relax this directive but the Mahorais do not agree at all and they demonstrated to say no to the free entry visa on their territory because the migratory tension has become explosive. In addition, the measure announced by the President of the Republic fuels intercommunal tensions in mainland France. Interviews with a Comorian, a protester, Saïd AHAMADA, LREM member 7th district of Bouches-du-Rhône and Ali ABDALLAH, Mahorais activist.
