When he got out of the car, André MALRAUX, attacked by journalists, refused to speak and, in his particular phrasing, invited them to have a drink. Then, in the salons of the Embassy of India, seated next to Mme GANDHI, he evokes, always in his inimitable style, the heavy burden of Mme GANDHI in the face of human misery. To his legendary enthusiasm, he even loses his dentures...
