Bernard Kouchner’s reaction to the resignation of Bernard Tapie
Threatened to be charged with the abuse of social property and presentation of false balance sheets on the complaint of the deputy RPR Georges Tranchant, Bernard Tapie resigned last night from his duties as minister of the city in the government of Pierre Bérégovoy. Health Minister Bernard Kouchner’s reaction: "On the merits of cases I do not pronounce. Justice must follow its course. Many who surrounded him buried him a little quickly... I had been very impressed by the plan he had proposed for the city, and I am sure that the government would not bury him, because he was innovative, generous, bold and jostling. And we need this air, this breath that traditional policies, despite their merits, are not always able to find. It’s better not to hit a man on the ground".
