Special edition: summary of the attack on the Place de l'Etoile

Paris, Thursday 17 August 1995: a bomb hidden in a garbage can exploded around 17:10 at the corner of Friedland Avenue and Place de l'Etoile. There were 17 injured, several of whom were in serious condition (the most seriously injured being a child in a stroller). Most of these are foreign tourists visiting the capital. The attack was not claimed. comment on the images of the place of the attack, with the arrival of first aid. - Testimony of a woman: "A big bang, a big smoke cloud..." A coffee boy: "Time to turn around to see the bomb..." - Interview in charge of the Danish Boutique which has been transformed into a first aid centre: "We were asked if we could dispose of the store, move the furniture. By the time we move them, already the first wounded arrived..."
