Algeria: Three gendarmes and two French consular agents were killed in Algiers this morning during an attempted car bomb attack. Live from the Quai d'Orsay, reaction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: - T. CURTET in, announcing that E. BALLADUR immediately convened a crisis cabinet. - Extract from the statement by Catherine COLONNA, spokeswoman for the Ministry: "France condemns this barbaric act... It has decided to strengthen its security system... It offers its condolences to the families... The perpetrators will have to be arrested and punished.. It recommends to its nationals whose presence is not indispensable in Algeria to return to France".
