Signature of the WTO Founding Agreements

Signature of the WTO Founding Agreements

In Marrakech, representatives of 122 countries participating in the Uruguay Round signed a final agreement that enshrines the establishment of a broad liberalization of international trade: the WTO. The subject is composed of images of the signature of the agreement with the various signatories and interviews of Mourad CHERIFF, Moroccan Minister of Foreign Trade, Fassassi YACOUBOU, Minister of Foreign Trade of Benin, who are being optimistic. Gérard LONGUET, the French Minister for Foreign Trade, sees an improvement: "It is no longer the law of the jungle...the social clause will be integrated, it will not be the law of the lowest wage. There is a prospect for countries that trade with each other to raise wage levels".
