François Mitterrand will ask Marie Curie to enter the Pantheon
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, taken from the interview with François MITTERRAND: he believes that it is not normal that no woman was admitted to the Hall of Fame for her own merits (and not simply as wife of) and will therefore request the entry of Marie CURIE, double Nobel Prize winner. NB: The first woman buried in the Hall of Fame is Sophie BERTHELOT, in 1907, but she was only buried as the wife of Marcellin BERTHELOT, chemist and politician (Minister of Foreign Affairs, Senator and member of the Academy of Sciences), and not in view of its own merits, the family of the deceased, died within hours of each other, not wishing that the spouses be separated in death. Marie CURIE will therefore be the first woman in history to whom the nation will render this incredible honour for herself.
