A "Terminology Commission on Vocabulary Relating to Women’s Activities", responsible for studying the feminization of trade names, functions, grades or titles, was created by government decree. Its president is journalist and writer Benoîte GROULT. Interview of Benoîte GROULT on the reasons for the creation of the commission, in particular to put an end to a confusion in the use of the masculine and the feminine. She notes that at a high level of social hierarchy, the use of the feminine in the names of titles is taboo, and denounces a form of prejudice against the feminine forms of professional designations.
