Jacques Chirac, inaugurated the new central court of Roland Garros, on the eve of the start of the internationals. The renovation work consisted of expanding the central court, doubling the area in the basement, with new locker rooms and a new restaurant. Spectator microsidewalk: "It looks pretty nice, clearer. We are less tight, we manage to move better. they kept the same architecture, they could have done something more original"
