Women’s Day - Châteauroux: portrait first voters in 1945
About 35,000 women in France are active in the association femmes solidaires, formerly known as the Union des Femmes françaises, and created at the end of the war to enable women who had taken places formerly reserved for men during the conflict to obtain rights. First of all, and not the least, adopted in 44 by the Provisional Government of France headed by De Gaulle, the right to vote. Practiced since 45, by two Berrichonnes activists of this association, who at over 80 years remember, while continuing the fight.
