First transgender marriage held at Nancy City Hall
First transgender marriage held at Nancy City Hall
A marriage between two women was celebrated this morning at the town hall of Nancy. Elise and Stephanie were officially married before the eyes of their loved ones. A union of all that is most legal, in the form of nose to the chilliness of society. Indeed, if Stephanie became a woman five years ago, her civil status still considers her a man. Hence the possibility for the town hall of Nancy to marry them. Olivier HUSSON, deputy mayor of Nancy, claims freedom of mind and tolerance of the town hall. Stéphanie NICOT explains that she refused to change her identity because she would have had to prove her operation and answer particularly intrusive questions and investigation.
