The International Animation Film Market opens in Annecy

The International Animation Film Market (MIFA) opened for the first time in 1985 alongside the Annecy Festival. Dedicated to the meeting between animation professionals (producers, technicians, distributors, buyers), the MIFA, inaugurated by the Minister of Culture Jack LANG, makes the link between art and industry. At the initiative of this market, Jack LANG explains his desire to create a national cartoon industry, by promoting the development of animation studios, by making financial resources available for film production and by encouraging broadcasters to participate in projects.
