The Web at CERN in Geneva

The Web, a computer communication tool that allows access to all kinds of information from one’s own computer, was invented by researchers at CERN, the European organisation for nuclear research. Students at Ferney Voltaire International High School have access to the Web. Robert CAILLIAU, co-inventor of the web, discusses the different possibilities of this system. Jean Michel FORQUET, principal of the school Ferney Voltaire, talks about the speed with which students adapt to this novelty. A student testifies to the amount of information they can access. Comment on images taken at CERN during a demonstration of the WEB and at Ferney Voltaire High School (Ain), including images of computer screens.
