Le président de la république Jacques Chirac a tenu à venir à Saint Nazaire rendre hommage aux victimes de l'accident du Quee Mary 2 et participer au recueillement des familles, des proches et des salariés des Chantiers. Il était accompagné de Jean Pierre Raffarin, son premier ministre. Christian Duval, délégué CGT des Chantiers de l'Atlantique espère que le gouvernement apportera son soutien à l'avenir de la construction navale de Saint Nazaire.
