Douglas Kennedy is invited on the set of the program "Les cinq dernières minutes" to talk about his last book "Au pays de Dieu". Interviewed about the two candidates in the American presidential election, George W Bush and John Kerry and their relationship to religion, he said: "He (George W Bush) had an intimate relationship with Jesus, frankly, directly, he speaks directly with Jesus... Kerry, he’s very Catholic but privately...for a lot of people in the United States, the fact that Bush is super Christian is great, but there are a lot of Americans like me, on the laic side, who hate the fact that Bush is super Christian and talks about his intimate relationships with God...".
