Dominique Voynet on the disproportionate attitude of law enforcement during a demonstration
During a rally held in Montreuil to support a man who lost an eye following a flashball shot by police officers last week, the gendarmes fired tear gas grenades and charged protesters. The mayor of the city, Dominique VOYNET, denounces a demonstration of disproportionate force, with "people slammed against the walls, blows of baton, blows at all". She notes "that it is always cowboy attitudes that prevail" and says "all the more concerned that the orders have come from above".
