Statement by Georges walked before Johnny Hallyday’s concert at the Fête de l'Humanité
During this first Humanity Day in La Courneuve after the abandonment of communism by the Soviet government, Georges MARCHAIS goes on stage, in front of a crowded crowd in front of the big stage. While the audience is chanting Johnny’s name (Hallyday), he says on the microphone: "Johnny you will have it, and I will listen to it with you, but you will have it all the faster since I will have made my speech...". He then comes back to the events in the USSR: "This week, many people have told us that they know the difference between the USSR and France, and that they rely on the PCF, which they so desperately need...".
