Dans l'Aveyron, les habitants de Sauveterre-de-Rouergue considère leur pharmacien Jean-Pierre Mirousessaye, plutôt comme un ami. Cependant, à 71 ans, il souhaite prendre sa retraite mais peine à trouver un repreneur. Il décrit les spécificités du métier de pharmacien de campagne. Des clients expriment leur attachement à ce service indispensable dans le village. Jean-Christophe, gérant du bar, estime que la pharmacie "c'est comme une école, si elle disparaît, c'est un peu la mort du village".
