Rehabilitation project for inmates at the Emmaus Baudonne Farm
In a few months, the Emmaus Baudonne farm will serve as a place of reintegration for a dozen inmates from all over France. This is the only project of its kind in Europe. Benefiting from a sentence arrangement, these inmates will be housed there between 4 months and 2 years maximum. In particular, they will be responsible for the cultivation of 3 hectares of market gardening land. Gabi Mouesca is behind this project. He spent 17 years in prison for his action in the armed struggle for the independence of the Basque Country. He now accompanies inmates in their reintegration. The inmates will never be delivered to themselves, but the farm is intended to be completely open to the outside. An idea that does not appeal to the neighborhood, which launched a petition that received 70 signatures. The site manager believes that such a project also allows delutter against recidivism.
