The English developed an ersatz of foie gras obtained without gavage which they called "false fat". This new product is not very well received in the Landes by the protagonists of the traditional foie gras industry. A French chef officiating in London, Pascal Aussignac, has little taste of the taste qualities of this product, while Marie-Pierre Pé, in charge of communication at the Comité interprofessionnel du foie gras, questions the poor communication quality of these English producers. Finally, a microsidewalk made with Landais and the reaction of a restaurateur of Dutch origin, Marcel Van Der Sluis, lover of real foie gras, do not bode well for the future of this new product in the Southwest.
