Report on the controversy surrounding the remarks made by the candidate National Front to the presidential Marine LE PEN concerning halal meat sold in Ile-de-France. A comment on illustration images alternating with the interview of the presidential candidate as well as those of the sociologist Florence BERGEAUD and Yves BERGER of the Interprofessional Association of Cattle and Sheep. [Source: France 3 documentation] The remarks made by Marine Le Pen on halal meat sold in the Ile-de-France have rekindled the controversy. Marine le PEN: "All slaughterhouses in Ile de France do halal without the knowledge of consumers". These claims have been refuted by the Ministry of Agriculture which specifies that four slaughterhouses in Ile de France slaughter their animals according to this rite. Florence BERGEAUD-BLACKER: "There are meat producers who, for reasons of profitability, prefer to do everything halal, rather than to do a halal chain from one hour to the next, then to clean everything, to switch to the conventional, to do everything over again. This costs a lot more". Yves BERGER: "More than 97% of the meat consumed by people from the Ile-de-France region comes from other parts of France".
