United States: Burning oil platform in the Gulf of Mexico
United States: Burning oil platform in the Gulf of Mexico
Report in the United States where an oil rig severely damaged by an explosion sank on Thursday in the Gulf of Mexico, off the coast of Louisiana, causing a major oil spill. Eleven employees are missing, and the American authorities have quickly sent pollution control vessels to contain the oil slick because the risks of major pollution remain. Comment on factual images and excerpt from a statement by Rear-Admiral Mary LANDRY (spokesman for the United States Coast Guard) who announces on American television that there is apparently no leak of submarine oil (sic).
