When a bank account is inactive for 10 years, banks transfer these funds to the Caisse des dépôts et consignations. The owners of these accounts have 30 years to claim their due. Beyond this term it becomes complicated to recover the sums that lie dormant in these accounts. Interview with Maie Anne JACQUOT, lawyer for the French association of banking users.
